“Mom, these eggs look creepy.”
“Good! That’s because they’re watching who takes the last one.”
It started one chilly October afternoon when we decided to give a classic favorite a fun twist. A few eggs, some imagination, and a splash of our favorite garlic kick later, Bedeviled Eggs were born.
The secret? A spoonful (okay, maybe three) of Spicy Garlic Sauce, our twist on Nước Chấm — the tangy, savory Asian Sauce that makes everything taste a little more alive.
It adds just the right boo! of bold flavor that wakes up your taste buds and keeps everyone reaching for another egg.
Cute enough for the kids, yummy enough for the grown-ups, and mischievous enough for Halloween night.
How to Make Bedeviled Eggs
Ingredients:
12 eggs
1 ½ tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 ½ tablespoons mayonnaise
3 tablespoons Spicy Garlic Sauce
1 (6 oz) can black olives, drained and cut in half horizontally
Paprika powder
Sriracha hot sauce
Method:
Place eggs in a saucepan and cover with cold water. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat.
Cover and let stand for 10–12 minutes.
Transfer eggs to cold water to cool, then peel.
Slice each egg in half lengthwise and scoop out the yolks.
In a bowl, whisk together the yolks, mustard, mayonnaise, and Spicy Garlic Sauce until smooth.
Spoon or pipe the mixture back into each egg half.
Sprinkle with paprika for that festive orange hue.
Make your olive “spiders”:
Use one olive half as the body.
Slice the other half into thin “legs” and arrange them around.
Add two tiny dots of Sriracha for eyes.
Chill for 20–30 minutes before serving.
Why We Love It
When we first tested these out, someone said, “That’s waaaaay too cute to eat.”Seven minutes later, the tray was empty!
The creamy yolk and the umami of Vietnamese-style Nước chấm make every bite an explosion of flavor.
Whether you’re hosting a Halloween potluck or spicing up a weeknight dinner, this recipe proves you can be both saucey and wholesome.
